Discord Integration
Verification
How Grande links members’ Discord and Roblox accounts, gives them their roles, and how to fix common problems.
1. What is verification
Verification connects your Discord account to your Roblox account. Servers that use Grande’s verification system use it to confirm who you are in game, so the right roles, nickname and access are given to you automatically.
You only link your Roblox account once. After that, every server that uses Grande can verify you with a single click, or even automatically.
2. How to verify
- In the server, press Verify with Grande on the verification message, or run the verification slash command if the server uses one. This opens a verification page on grandevc.xyz.
- Press Continue with Discord and sign in. Grande only asks to identify you.
- Press Continue with Roblox and link the Roblox account you play on. You can pick a different account later if you linked the wrong one.
- Check that the Discord and Roblox accounts shown are yours, then press Verify.
If the server has requirements, the page lists them and shows which ones you meet. You can verify once all of them are met.
3. What happens when you verify
- You are given the server’s verified roles.
- The server’s unverified roles are removed, if it uses any.
- Your nickname is set to your Roblox username, if the server has nickname sync turned on.
Roles and nicknames can take a few seconds to appear. If you change your Roblox account later, use Re-verify in the server to update them.
4. Automatic verification
If you have already linked your Roblox account (on grandevc.xyz or by verifying in another server), Grande can verify you the moment you join a server that has automatic verification turned on. You then get a direct message from Grande saying which server and which Roblox account you were verified as.
Automatic verification only runs for members who already linked Roblox with Grande, and only in servers that turned it on. Everyone else verifies with the button as normal.
5. Setting it up for your server
You need the Manage Server permission in Grande to change these settings.
- Open Panel Settings and go to Discord Integration › Verification, then turn on Grande Verification.
- Pick the Verify Channel. Grande posts your verification messages there.
- Press Create Verification Message. Give it a name, choose the Verified Roles (and optionally Unverified Roles to remove), set any requirements, and choose how people verify:
- Message with Button: Grande posts a message with a Verify button in your Verify Channel.
- Slash Command: members run the verification command instead.
- Choose a Main Verification Type. This is the one Grande uses when it verifies someone automatically. If you do not choose one, the first enabled message is used.
- Use Automatic Verification to turn automatic verification on or off.
Make sure Grande’s role is above the roles it needs to give, and that it can see and send messages in the Verify Channel. The free plan includes up to 2 verification messages.
6. Customizing the messages
With Grande+ you can customize two messages:
- Verification message: press Customize Verification Message when you create or edit a message. It uses the same message creator as Sessions, so you can use containers, text, separators and images. Add the verification button directly: it always uses that message’s own verification link, and no other buttons can be added.
- Automatic verification DM: press Customize Verification DM on the Verification configuration page.
Without Grande+, Grande uses its default messages.
Variables you can use in both messages:
{discord-server-name}: the name of your server.{time}: the current time. Add a letter for a different style:{timet},{timeT},{timed},{timeD},{timef},{timeF}and{timeR}(relative, like “2 minutes ago”).
Only in the automatic verification DM:
{roblox-user}: the member’s Roblox username.{user}: a mention of the member.{milliseconds}: how long verification took.
Use Test message in the creator to send yourself a copy before you save.
7. If something does not work
- Join Server to Continue: you must be in the Discord server before you can verify there. Join it, then open the verification page again.
- Failed to Meet Requirements: the server has requirements you do not meet yet. The page lists each one. Meet them and press Verify again.
- Verification is not open right now: staff have not turned verification on, or it is not set up yet. Ask a staff member.
- Link not valid: the verification link is wrong or old. Press the button on the server’s verification message again, or ask staff for a new one.
- Wrong Roblox account: press Not you? Link a different Roblox account on the verification page and sign in to the right one, then verify again.
- I did not get my roles: wait a few seconds and check again. If you still have none, ask staff to check that Grande’s role is above the verified roles.
- I did not get the automatic verification message: allow direct messages from server members in your Discord privacy settings.
