Staff Requests
Let members ask for staff help in-game, straight from Discord.
1. What it does
When a member runs /staff-request in your Discord server and gives a reason, Grande posts the request in the channel you choose, with the reason, how many staff are in-game and the ER:LC player count. Staff press Respond and Grande posts that they acknowledged it. Open Discord Integration › Staff Requests. You need the Discord Integration permission.
2. Setting it up
- Turn on Turn on staff requests.
- Choose the Request Channel. Grande needs View Channel and Send Messages there. Press refresh if you just made the channel.
- Set the Wait Time: how many minutes a member must wait between requests (at least 5).
- Choose up to 3 Roles to Ping. Grande pings them with each request.
- Choose Who Can Request to limit the /staff-request command to certain Discord roles. Leave it empty to allow everyone.
- Press Save Changes.
Only members with the Moderator Panel permission on your Grande panel can press Respond.
Staff can also send a request from the Moderator Panel with Request Staff. That needs the Request Staff permission on one of their Grande roles (turn it on in Roles). It uses the same channel, pings and wait time.
To turn staff requests off, untick Staff Requests Enabled. It saves straight away (there is no Save Changes step) and the page changes to Enable Staff Requests. Your settings are kept, so pressing the button turns it back on just as it was.
3. Customizing the message
With Grande+, the gear beside the channel opens the message editor. You can use these variables: {user}, {reason}, {onduty}, {ingamestaff}, {players} and the time variables {time}, {timet}, {timeT}, {timed}, {timeD}, {timef}, {timeF} and {timeR}. Grande always adds the Respond button for you. Grande does not track staff shifts yet, so {onduty} shows the same number as {ingamestaff}.
4. If something does not work
- Staff requests are not turned on for this server: turn the setting on and save.
- Nothing is posted: check that Grande can post in the channel.
- The command does not show up: it can take a few minutes after Grande restarts for Discord to list a new command.
- Playercount shows Unknown: link your ER:LC API key.
